The Nissan GTR got a facelift in 2015, including these beautiful LED headlights. One downside to this was the amount of bright chrome stuffed inside these units due to the lack of the dark chrome finish found on the earlier headlights. The other downside is the lower powered little LEDs powering the "Bolts". With only 2 LEDs per Bolt, the design on these headlights just isn't what owners want, when they enviously watch newer factory cars like the Jaguar XF, Corvette C7, or any of the Audi line up.
To help the situation, we have installed a more capable set of LEDs and 800mA drivers to push the Bolts to a brighter, better color White, which is also available in other colors now. We hooked up the running lights to a remote control strobe system for this video, but it normally functions as a simple On / Off running light.
The most important change here is the finish of the parts. Everything has been fully stripped down to components to bring some personality to these headlights. Each of the 4 internal pieces per headlight was remove, prepped and professionally painted using the same paint and quality, as would be done on a Hood, Bumper, or Fender. This Gunmetal paint (code KAD), was chosen by the customer to match the body color of his GTR.
