The stock light output on the factory LEDs for 2015 GTR headlights is very dim, and almost invisible in the daytime. The design of the LED Lightning Bolt uses acrylic tubes with little marks that catches the light as it passes through the tube. The light flowing through these tubes comes from a single "Rebel" LED being powered by the stock driver built into the headlights. The output is actually impressive when looking at the LED directly, but when looking at its impact on the acrylic tube, much more is left to be desired.
We have completely rebuilt the Circuit Boards, wiring, LED Drivers, and the new LEDs using the talent of our friends at Diode Dynamics. With their help, we can now upgrade the lightning bolts on 100s of GTRs with a very reliable, OEM grade solution to an OEM problem.
The lights in this video are powered by an 800mA driver, which is installed internally for plug and play operation. We added some cool functions by connecting a remote control that can either turn on the bolts anytime, or even pan through a list of Strobe modes for showing off.
We also installed a set of Red LED Demon Eye and hooked them up to the same type of remote. Many options are available instead of red, including other colors, or even color changing which can be controlled with an iPhone or Android device. The options are pretty much endless, including custom paint schemes, and even real Carbon Fiber overlays, expertly crafted to perfection.
Future development will include adding internal fans to the LEDs to drive them as high as 2000mA without experiencing failure due to overheating. If you have a project you're interested in getting a quote for, please just give us a call, or an email from www.FlyRyde.com
