Is it cheaper to buy a pre-etched lenses?
I prefer to get the lenses sent to me, all ready to go, etched by other builders like my friend Jason. I am investing even more into equipment to do this myself, but until I feel my skill level is high enough, I won’t include any of on paid client work!

This is a glass lens that has etching on the back side, so that you get this really cool pattern, and this is how it would look if i did a good job, and this is how it actually was on my first try. It doesn't look that great. So we used all the right steps. I just used the wrong kind of sand to blast the lens.
With i reached out to my buddy jay at sinister retroworks, and he told me the exact kind of sand, aluminum oxide 320 grit. I bought 40 pounds of it and it'll be here next week, so i have about 500 worth of equipment to make this and i messed up or i could have just paid 20 for somebody else to do the service. So would you rather have sinister retroworks? Do your etching or me.
This is like asking if you want your buddy to tint you car windows for cheap or if you wanna pay a professional to do it…..
Unless you want to learn for your own interests, it's so much easier to pay someone for something you won't need to do again, or probably won't do more than a handful of time at most…
Another big part of getting a clean etch is keeping your gun aim parallel to the lens, you gotta buy the thing laser straight or as the media cuts in it'll start cutting sideways into the sidewall and under your mask
Shoutout to Sinister Retrowerkz! He built my old forester lights and is building my focus st lights!
I made frosted decals for mine and it looks the same. U also can reuse the lenses if u want a diff design.
Jay is doing mine
I mean, for a first go, it doesn't look to bad, then again camera won't show the full picture
Also I couldn't find those halo rings sleeve. Please share link.
Hey buddy can you make a video on how to use plexiglass in headlights where we can replace reflector. In Gtr it's a transparent reflector so you can use led strips under it. But some cars have not transparent. So can replace with white plexiglass. Thanks
You
It depends on the person's temperament too. I'm fortunate that my wife doesn't mind weeding out the tiny graphics cause of I had to weed this shit nothing would get done.
Love your content. Can you do a video on disassembling a 2015 mazda 3 sedan headlight? Can the projector on those cars be taken out and etched?
That sounds like a trick question.
