#LEDlights

I just built some crazy stuff for this hyundai veloster, but i didn't like how bright they were. I wanted them a little bit brighter. I wanted them so bright that you could see that they were on, even though all the color changing stuff was happening. At the same time, the way that i did that was, i used something called an optic.

It's a little clear lens that goes on top of the leds. So now, with the optics in place on this second headlight, they are way brighter than the first one. Let me know if you've ever heard of led optics before.

I need more info on these. I use a ton of BTF strips and need to find a way for them to be brighter!!!

Where can we get them (reliably)? I could definitely apply some of these to improve output on some devices.

Do they mechanically secure to the LED or is some clear adhesive needed? Don't want them coming off!

I've seen it without knowing what the name was….. those were the first step up in led bulbs, having those "optics" on the top of leds to shine brighter as well as directly out of a housing and not solely rely on the reflectors inside the housings. From dome lights the reverse bulbs and other led bulbs…. recently took apart some switchback strips on my Mazda and found they were an array of leds with these optics on them, covered by a plastic diffuser lens. THANKS! now i know what that bubble thingy is called. They are basically mini projector lenses in their functionality right?

Experimenting with optics for the last 3 months using half round acrylic rod on strips to. It just focuses and channels the light like a projection and makes them pretty intense without maxing out the voltage

I cant wait to see how they look on some addressables
