While I ramble for 10 minutes, you can read this breakdown of the process of ordering lights π
1. Show us what style you like in an email, DM, Text, etc.
We get a good amount of requests that say: "How much for custom lights?" Here's the thing, we could be installing 5 different parts that all cost a couple hundred bucks each, or just a simple custom painted bezel inside the lights. There's no set price, unless you're on our website and we have a listing for an exact build.
2. We quote the build based on your request.
This takes us some time, so requests that are giant 8 paragraph breakdowns of ultra specific details, are sometimes harder to quote than ultra vague requests. I'm not yelling, so please dont be offended, lol. but this is gonna be in all caps: FIGURE OUT WHAT YOUR BUDGET IS BEFORE ASKING FOR A QUOTE. We dont need a huge budget, and most times, dont want a huge budget, those massive jobs are typically very time consuming... too time consuming.
3. You put down your deposit or pay in full to book your job.
On most jobs, we can take a half down deposit. On an 8000 dollar GTR job that includes 6000 dollars in parts... yeah we need the whole shebang π
4. We give you a ship time or a local install time, and put it on our calendar.
If we're having you ship, we'll tell you the day you should have the lights shipped, and how to properly box them (we'll send a link to a video showing the best practices on boxing and shipping your lights). Once we book that date, you have it, and we know how many hands will be needed for your job on that day. If its just 1 of us, we can book other small jobs the same day. In general, we already have enough on the books to not pack more in than just 1 new job on any given day.
5. Your lights show up on the day we expect them, and we get to work.
In the case that we provide brand new lights for you, we'll have them here already on the start date we've set for your invoice. We always need at least the amount of time required to get parts in from our vendors and then test those parts to make sure everything is perfect. If for some reason there's an issue with one of the parts being installed, the last thing we want is the customers lights here stuck waiting while a replacement shows up.
6. We test test test test, film, and photo your lights.
This includes the wire harness if we have included one custom for your job. We want to make sure that its super easy to install for you, or at least as easy as it possibly can be. Whats easy for us is to just send you stuff we think works without testing, leaving wires all over the place for you to figure out... buuuut we aren't terrible people, lol. So we take a good amount of time, sometimes multiple days to custom build super custom wire harnesses that are easy to just lay into place and plug in.
7. We finally finish by boxing up the lights, and sending a shipping invoice to be paid before they leave.
Each shipment varies in price from 50 dollars up to 200 dollars in the US. We also ship international, so we're just not able to say "1 size fits all" and charge everyone 100 bucks across the board. We have to get a quote for each customer based on the unique weight and dimensions of the box, as well as the location its being shipped to AND the insured value of the box. So again, we give the customer the option of how fast they'd like to get that box once its 100% ready to ship. We like to use USPS over any other carrier, and for expensive lights like GTRs, we always recommend doing Express shipments only.
8. Warranty
We stand behind the work. If we build your lights, and you have any issues, we want it fixed as fast as we can get to it.
FAQ:
Who pays shipping?
Again, we ship world wide, so if a guy in Sri Lanka wants GTR headlights, and a guy in Arizona wants the same thing, we're not going to eat it on shipping and charge each guy the same total. Right? Especially if shipping is crazy expensive, or somebody sends us a massive Fedex box overnight and wants us to pay for the same thing return shipping. Not gonna work my dude, there's a better, cheaper, and 9 times out of 10 SAFER way to ship those lights back.
