This video takes you through the removal of the C6 Headlights. A basic overview is as follows. You'll want to start by removing the side gromets (or plugs) that hold in the fender liners to the bumper. Then get behind the fender liners and use an extension with a 10mm socket to remove the 3 nuts there. 1 is actually a corner bolt of the headlight, while the other two are along the fender, holding it to the bumper. You'll unplug and pop out the side reflectors at this time as well.
Pop the hood and remove the screws along the top of the bumper, just under the weather stripping. Then remove the same type of screw from under the bumper. There are two of them, not far from two more 10mm nuts. Remove the nuts and slide the tab of the bumper down, and off the bolt. This should give a bit of play in the bumper. Make sure you have something padded under the bumper at this point.
Make sure both corners of the top center section of the bumper are popped up, and add some masking tape to the edge of the hood to make sure you dont scratch anything while sliding it off, or while reinstalling. Close the hood so that you can pull up on the bumper now that each corner is popped out of its locked in position. Pull the bumper forward so you can access two plastic plugs on each side. Get them out with a panel popper, then just make sure the Fog lights are unplugged, and the bumper will come right off.
Take off the three 10mm nuts under each headlight. Remove all of the top fender screws so you can have one person life up gently, while another person guides the headlight up so that the bolt posts clear the holes they're sitting in. There is a plastic post, or guide, that is on top of the headlight. Make sure the fender is high enough to clear this, then the light came come out.
Pry the safety clip off, and unplug the light. Then send it over for Angel Eyes, custom paint, chrome, LED lights, or even a full projector retrofit. Sky is the limit once we have your headlights to work on!

Looks stupid
Why couldn’t you just go through the fender wells ?
Is it a little late to say you didn't have to remove the bumper!
I need to remove my front clip also but Is it pretty much the same on my C5 2001 ? Wanna install some screw-in 30 LEDs on the clip ! Thanks on this good video !! Loup
What adhesive did you use to put the lens back on?
I'm debating on doing this as well, the damn radiator support bracket broke so I have my C6 front end off already
all that to change a damn light bulb wtf
How to put it back?
If I knew this before buying the car I wouldn't have!
Nice job! I just did some afterburner LED rings from Oracle with resistors to make them work as brake & running lights…. then I used sweeplites for the centers as turn signals. The tail housings are a PITA because you have to cut them open….
Thanks for the video, I needed to replace the seals on the light housings.
States to send our headlights to you and you can do the halo kit? I need my whitehousingspaintedblack and wanted this kit. What do you guys charge?
what did you use to tint your headlights?
You're welcome! Feel free to spread the word to other C6 owners and the forums 🙂
Thanks so much for this vid. I was racking my brain trying to figure out how to do this on mine and getting nowhere. Ur the man.
